roxy cuatro

last night was daddy's first turn up to bat with Roxy. i called home from work to see how things were going and he replied "good, everything is good here. i got this." this, of course, was in reference to the evening's happenings but i he seemed kinda smug, kinda sure of himself. exactly how he did the other night when he accepted my challenge. so it was pretty amusing this morning, when thing one and thing two came bounding down the stairs to find Roxy and i hear. . .

"awwww maaaaaannnnnnnn! mom!"

i naturally thought the dog had just shit on the steps again so i came down at my normal snail's pace. i found the two of you in the living room looking at this:

hhhmmmmmm.

that kinda looks exactly like the place that I put Roxy the night before.

in all this touting about "game on" and "i got this" it seems ol' daddy-o forgot to PLAY

i am not one to let the magic disappear so i was quick on my feet and promptly told you that Roxy simply had not moved because of the tantrum jack had thrown at panera yesterday. yes, in fact, he knew about the whole thing and was being so kind, that he did not go to the north pole last night to tell santa about it and was giving you another opportunity to be good today.

(i mean, let's face it, that was pretty effing genius of me!)

jack bought it and paused for thought and said "well, i better be extra good today then." yes, indeed, you better. and your father better bring his A game because mommy is totally winning. i think i actually hit the bonus round for saving his ass on that one.

in other news, jack's birthday present from fairy godmother arrived yesterday and he was super excited! it was the perfect gift for our resident super hero. he even took it to school today for show and tell. the whole get up. and had it on the very minute he stepped inside his classroom.

baby eleanor must be growing. she decided to wake up every TWO hours last night thus allowing mommy to sleep in three separate sessions of an hour and a half. i feel like the walking dead this morning. its awful. i dressed her up in a new holiday outfit and took pictures this morning to remind myself of how cute my little "package" is because i was kinda bummed about last night. its so hard to feel cranky when something so cute is smiling back at you! but if she keeps this up i might ground her.
